Welcome to Popaculture, a blog about fatherhood, pop culture and everything in between.

My name is Zach and my two favorite roles in life involve being a dad and a  pop culture connoisseur. My love of all things pop culture started with my exposure to MTV in 1989 at the young age of eight. The rainy April day that I first saw the music video for Guns N’ Roses’ “Paradise City” completely change my life. That weekend I started my music collection with the cassingles of “Paradise City” and “Welcome to the Jungle.” In addition to music, I soon developed a fascination with movies, toys, comics, pro wrestling, and other nerdy things. While other kids collected baseball cards, I collected records, tapes, and CDs. While other 30 olds lament about their days playing high school football, I fondly remembers my college job at an independent record store.

In September 2010, I became a dad for the first time to a beautiful little girl named Sydney. Even before she entered this world, Sydney became familiar with the likes of The Beatles, The Beach Boys and The Postal Service while in the womb. She has become a fan of puppets, Dr. Seuss, and is the only toddler I know who points to the turntable when she wants to hear music.

I love talking and writing about pop culture. I love talking and writing about being a dad. This blog was created because I could not express my love for this things in 140 characters or less.
